What is Tianzi Grid (Mi Zi Ge / Jiu Gong Ge / Hui Gong Ge)?
Chinese calligraphy practice grids. Tianzi Ge (田字格) divides each cell into 4 quadrants. Mi Zi Ge (米字格) adds two diagonals on top of Tianzi for the rice character pattern. Jiu Gong Ge (九宫格) divides each cell into a 3×3 grid of nine squares. Hui Gong Ge (回宫格) uses concentric squares to teach character spacing. Hardpen variants are smaller, sized for pen rather than brush practice.
What is Seyes grid paper?
Seyes (Seyès) is the standard French elementary school ruled paper. Each line band is 8 mm tall and split by 3 thinner intermediate lines into four 2 mm zones, plus an 8 mm vertical grid. The proportions teach French cursive (cursive ronde) where ascenders and descenders fit neat 2 mm zones.
What is the German three-line paper?
German Lineatur 1 / 2 / 3 - school paper used to teach letter heights. Three or four lines per row: capline, x-height midline, baseline, and descender line. Ascenders, x-height letters, and descenders each have their own zone, teaching consistent proportions.
What is Pinyin practice paper?
Chinese homework paper that combines a Tianzi character grid with three pinyin (romanisation) lines stacked above each character square. Used in Mainland Chinese primary schools so students write the character below and its pinyin (with tone marks) above.
What spacing should I use for lined paper?
Standard wide-rule is 8.7 mm (about 11/32 inch), college-rule is 7.1 mm (9/32 inch), narrow-rule is 6.4 mm (1/4 inch). For young children, 12-15 mm rules with a dashed midline is common. The Recommend button suggests the right spacing for each paper type.
Can I use my own logo and watermark?
Yes. Upload a PNG, JPG, or SVG logo (it never leaves the browser). Pick its position (4 corners + top/bottom centre). Add custom watermark text with adjustable opacity and rotation. Both render into PDF / PNG / SVG / print.
Can I save my paper settings?
Yes. The Export Settings button downloads a JSON file with every option (paper type, theme, size, spacing, margins, colours, watermark, logo, page count). Import Settings reloads any saved JSON to recreate the same paper later or share with a colleague.
Can I print directly without downloading?
Yes - the Print button opens the browser print dialog with the preview only (no controls or chrome). The @page CSS rule is set to true millimetre dimensions, so a 5 mm grid prints as 5 mm if your printer is at 100 percent / Actual Size.
What size is A4 vs US Letter?
A4 is 210 × 297 mm (8.27 × 11.69 in) - taller and slightly narrower than Letter. US Letter is 215.9 × 279.4 mm (8.5 × 11 in) - wider and shorter than A4. A4 is standard outside North America; Letter is standard in the US, Canada, and parts of Latin America.
Will my custom paper print at exact size?
Yes if you turn off "fit to page" in the print dialog. The PDF export embeds true millimetre dimensions, so a 5 mm grid prints as 5 mm if your printer is set to 100% / Actual Size. PNG export is at 300 DPI for print quality.
